Day at the beach

A weak sun
warms slightly
through the blue
that has banished
all thoughts of Texas

I remember why I shouldn't
have packed my flip flops

  7. big sighs ...

we take a week vacation at the beach every year and i just live for that time!

what i love about your photos is how you capture the intimacy and joy of each moment. i, for one, find those "imperfect" shots truthful and beautiful in that they capture the sense of a moment preserved.

glad you are sharing both "kinds" of images with us :)

  12. Hi Shona,

I'm so happy to get to see your photos of what you are doing! I always miss you when you are gone. :o)

The dogs are all well and happy and eating leftovers with Rebekah. We were gone to the square dance convention for two days, but the Brenons and Stevens played with your babies and fed them and let them out both days. We got home at 2pm and then I went home..straight to bed! We danced all night Saturday night as part of a teen lock in. I say 'we' but I gave up and just watched the kids have a great time about 3am.

When they got tired of square dance, two stepping, and line dancing, they played duck-duck-goose which looked awful funny with a bunch of older teenagers! I thought they'd never get tired of that. funny...

Your photos never cease to amaze me! I love that most of your photos will be of your children and places just for a little while. I love all the beautiful things you make..but the way you capture children and family and moments..is just incredibly poetic and tender...

You say in pictures what I wish I could say in words...there's so much 'heart' in them. :o)

    I love the poem too!
