castle influences

I can see how my taste in house style has it's roots in my Irish heritage. You can see it in my bedroom here and my living room here! Now if only my floor tile was as rustic as the floors of Bunratty Castle :)

  1. I am from the UK but live in the US now and one of the things I miss the most is castles, especially the ruins. It was like seeing a piece of home. :0)

  2. Now I can see where your style came from. I was trying to figure it out. Makes sense now. Love it, by the way.

  7. Oh Bunratty Castle. My dear friend nora ran a B&B just down the road and I had many happy stays there.. all the way from New Zealand. I've attended the castle banquet and wandered the Folk park. It was magic to go inside a cottage and smell the turf burning on the fire. And of course.. sing-songs around the piano at Derty Nellies!!
    Your little Princess is perfect!

  8. Such memories! We visited Bunratty 22 years ago on our honeymoon.

Big sighs over here for each photo you post!
