Question for you
I have been invited to do a series of art works for Somerset Workshop for October 2008! I will have to produce 2 main pieces that can be easily explained to readers in a series of steps and then many more for the gallery.
My focus will be on altered photos, which is great as I have worked so hard to get it right and have learned lots along the way that I can share!
The first piece that I was thinking of demonstrating is this altered board book wall hanging.
Here is the full image (my camera is not great at taking detailed photos, so excuse the pic) and a one of the pages of the altered book. The book has 5 spreads, I may journal on the pages a little, so I am not quite finished.
Question: Is this a project you would be interested in learning how to make step by step in the magazine? Do you think others would be interested?

This is beatiful and definitely would be worth a step-by-step explanation. Wonderful colors!
ReplyDeleteThis is very pretty. I would love to hear about soldering. I did some stained glass work before I got married, and I could have used some soldering tips then! I think people would like seeing the steps it takes to create pieces like this.
ReplyDeleteYes! I'm not very good in soldering. I tried it in the past, but it didn't works very well.

I think people would be very interested in learning these techniques. I like the idea of the wall hanging...and you could even use small stained glass in some of the dangles if you wanted to hang one in a window and have the light shine through. Congratulations on your upcoming series! and...Happy Easter to you!
ReplyDeleteShona I think this is a great idea!!!!

This totally up my alley. My colors and style. I would love to learn especially the left although they are both amazing. I think others would love to learn about these techniques too. I know nothing about soldering, so it sounds intersting. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteI know that I would love to learn about soldering. I think this project will speak to altered artists as well as jewelry makers.
