I crave arty friends. They are gold to me.
I am in a little photography threesome with Shannon Mucha and Anita Michelsen. Our group is called Tribloom. The goal of Tribloom is to produce 3 collaborative photo pieces a month. Each piece is illustrating that week's quote or poem (picked by us).
For example, this week's piece is a quote by Lewis Carroll:
“Child of the pure, unclouded brow And dreaming eyes of wonder! Though time be fleet and I and thou Are half a life asunder, Thy loving smile will surely hail The love-gift of a fairy tale."
How lovely is that?
Well, it was my turn to put our photos together and I can't decide which one I like better. Will you weigh in?

Which do you prefer, which do you think illustrates the quote the best? version 1 or 2?
When it is all done we plan to make a Blurb book with our art work to enter into our church's Fall art festival. It will be lovely to see it all together in book form!

So, Sew Mama Sew is over! It was short and sweet this time around. I got a lot of comments on Monday, but wow did it drop off the last few days. I wonder why? I wonder did others notice that? I also noticed that the the category of 'Sewing + Knitting Supplies/Materials' got much more entries than 'handcrafted' things alone, especially when it came to giveaways of those funky Amy Butler type fabrics. Interesting!
I entered a few contests myself, but not as many as last time, I had a busy week. I doubt I will win anything as it is all the law of averages. But is really was fun visiting new blogs and gaining a few new readers here, thank you very much for signing up and taking the time to leave such sweet comments!
So the winner of my apron and wall hanging is:
TAMMIEMARIE of Crafty Tammie
Congrats!
I will talk to you over email and get it in the mail to you soon!

I will leave you with this video I did of my son juggling last night.
He is 9 and taught himself to juggle!

Check in tomorrow to see if you win my regular Saturday Giveaway! (and I have a fun post about something I made this week, something fun for kids)
and
Let me know which version of the Tribloom photo you prefer!
version two gets my vote!!!
ReplyDeleteme too!
ReplyDeleteVersion 2
I think version two is a better illustration of the quote! Both are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI like #2 - something about the child looking up like that.
ReplyDeleteAwesome juggling!
Version 2 as well! Fabulous photos!
ReplyDeleteI like version 2 better. We get a peek at her loving smile, and her upward games seems hopeful.
ReplyDeleteYes, winning a giveaway is about the law of averages. :) I didn't have as much time this time, either, especially with so many gorgeous giveaways to enter. (But I did win one from a blog I visit regularly!) Thank you for participating and sharing your talents. I always feel so much generosity and bonhomie from the SMS giveaways.
Congrats to Tammie, too!
version 2 is the logical choice as the eyes can be seen... what if in version 2, the top two photos were switched - there is something I like about the color in those two being connected.
ReplyDeleteOh sure, I'm lot's of help:)
eeek im the odd one out version 1 speaks to me the words and the little girl looking down, i must have missed the sew mama post and great juggling {{{{claps}}}
ReplyDeleteI love version 1 !!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are both beautiful but there's something magical about version 2. The look in the child's eyes is spectacular.
ReplyDeleteI choose Version 1. But they're both nice.
ReplyDeleteWow! Matthew's juggling is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI think you could go with either, My personal favorite is #1 because it seems more reflective and that sweet little girl could be any of little girls I know and love
ReplyDelete#2. Because you are reading left to right, top to bottom, it makes more sense visually because you eyes have already scanned the pictures so then you'll actually take time to read the words. I noticed in myself that in the first one I just jumped over the quote to look at the photos.
ReplyDeleteI like the second set, because the girl is more like the representative of the quote. Also, you son is pretty darn talented!
ReplyDeleteI would go with version one, even though both are great. The quote sounds almost like an incantation and the first photo looks like a face in prayer, which ties in nicely.
ReplyDeleteI'm with a select few...I like version 1. There is something abou the whispiness, the ever-so-hidden, smile...the true fairy tale quality that just speaks to me. BUT both are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have been away from your blog for far too long...time to catch up! :)
version 1!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely #2. You need to see the eyes for that quote. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteFor the poem I think #2 is sweet.
ReplyDeleteI received my notebook today! :) thank you so much!! I'm hoping to just back into being artful once our HS testing is finished for the year.
Both versions are so pretty but version #2 seems to fit with the quote better. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic idea and what beautiful work! I love both but think #2 matches the quote best..
ReplyDeleteI'm all about Version Two-- the little girl has such a sweet face.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the apron winner!
Happy weekend,
jj
Both are beautiful! That said, I believe version 2 better illustrates the quote.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I love all of your crafts and projects.
Enjoy the weekend!

Oh my goodness! I just watched your video, and your little man is incredibly talented! I never knew someone could juggle that many things at once! I was so surprised when he would do his turns. Most impressive.
ReplyDeletelove version number 1..popped in for a quick visit..lol...xxx
ReplyDeleteps...tat juggling just put a smile on jacob's face...xxx
ReplyDeleteI like Version 2!
ReplyDeleteHi Shona, I have to say I liked version two better. Matthew is so good! I loved watching his video.
ReplyDeleteAbout the giveaway, I ended up with exactly the same amount of entries on both blogs, but more traffic on my sewing blog. :o) I had 1500 visitors the first day, 800, the second, and 400 the third on Comin' Home. I know DC's Creations was more and I assume that's because it was obviously likely to be a sewing blog.
Makes sense though I guess. :o)
thank you all so much for weighing in! I agree with everyone who said that #2 illustrates the quote better, little Nomi looks like 'wonder', but I think I prefer #1, it is a little more my style....
ReplyDeleteso as art #1; as illustration #2
this really was fun reading all the thoughts, you all put some real thought into it and I appreciate it.
I'm late to comment on this post, but I liked #2 best. Something about that little girl's eyes - so sweet! and THANK you so much for the giveaway, I can't wait to see their beauty in person!
ReplyDeleteThey are both beautiful
